Andy Warhol Revisited

Ok, so this is not showing in Toronto anymore but I do want to “revisit”  it because it was such a fun show while it was here for about 6 months at the Revolver’s pop-up gallery in Yorkville.

We all know Andy Warhol’s most famous works, which was on hand, but there were a few surprise installations that not many would have seen publicly, which gave a fresh perspective on his work. The abstract painting Shadow from 1977 and his landscapes from the Space Fruit series, were examples of this due to the fact that these pieces were borrowed from private collections.

I saw this exhibit a second time around with the whole family.  Toronto often misses out on important city tour exhibits that go from city to city across Europe and the U.S., so it’s best to take advantage of any major works that come through.  I saw the Georgia O’Keefe exhibit of her life’s work at the Tate Modern in London last year September which is now coming to the AGO in Toronto next month. It will be worth seeing a second time around.

If you missed Warhol while it was here, below are a few highlights.
