Best Beaches and Coves in Sydney, Australia
When in Sydney, I highly recommend you spend some of the time in the Coogee Beach suburb because that is where the best coastal access is to all of the beautiful beaches, parks and coves extending all the way to Bondi Beach.
I stayed in this area after spending a week in Sydney Harbour and a week in Fiji Islands and I have to say the quality of life in the “burbs” is nothing short of spectacular. It has all of the Cafe’s, restaurants, clubs, and shopping one would need plus magnificent coastal beaches.
Despite the constant on and off rain and 100 degree weather; I would take 5 to 6 kilometre walks along the coast through Coogee Bay, Bronte Beach, Cllovery Bay, Gordon’s Bay, McKenzie Point, and Bondi Beach; but not necessarily in that order.
What can I say? The views have it. I passed through bluffs, bays and coves and parks, public swimming pool areas intertwined with wonderful houses that are built into the cliffs. It is probably one the best walks in the world for coastal views.
- Coogee Beach
My hotel was directly across the street from Coogee Beach. I would take morning walks along the beach and stop in one of the cafe’s along the way.
2. In Clovelly Bay, one could see the apartments and houses built into the cliffs.
3. Coogee Bay
Plenty of seating areas were available along the way so that you could sit and rest or simply take in the views.
4. Gordons Bay and Cove.
5. Nelson Bay (Bronte Beach) is a tiny little beach oasis an great area to have a swim.
6. Mckenzie Point has beautiful rocky cliffs, big waves and spectacular views.
6. Bondi Beach, the largest and most popular beach is filled with surfers, and sun bathers as well an abundance of hotels, restaurants, cafes and shops.
