How to Power Dress and Keep Cool in this August Heat

To all my boss ladies out there, you understand how challenging it can be to power dress in the summer heat.  I love my pants/skirts suits but I find in the hot months of July and August running from appointment to appointment can leave me looking like a wet noodle upon my arrival in a full-on suit.

Now, don’t get me wrong;  for interviews, suits with jackets are a must no matter the temperature, but for every other occasion (breakfast/lunch meetings, presentations, meeting with clients etc.) there are other dress code options that fit the bill.

I have come to embrace the short sleeve top or blouse with a dress pant or skirt ensemble with open toe shoes. It allows me to go throughout the busy day staying cool retaining a fresh look.

The two examples below are both from Club Monaco. I find separates flexible and gives me the ability to expand my existing wardrobe choices by mixing and matching several pieces and updating older pieces to create a new look.

It’s important to look and feel comfortable by staying cool under pressure in this heat enabling us to get our hustle on!
